Cornerstone Church of England Primary School opened in September 2013 and currently has 187 pupils in 7 classes. The current plan is for the school to move in 2021 to become a 3 form entry primary school in a brand-new, purpose-built school on a 9 acre site.

Our children are highly engaged, keen to learn, enjoy all aspects of school life, are well-mannered and considerate of others. The staff team are positive and dedicated to the learning, growth and welfare of our pupils. Parents and governors are supportive and engaged with the school. Caretaker

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, friendly, reliable and resourceful person, who ideally has recent experience of working as a Caretaker in a school, although full training can be provided for the right candidate. They will take pride in the site, have high standards and be proactive.

The role is for 25-30 hours per week. There is some flexibility about when these hours are worked, which can be negotiated, however it will include up to two evening lettings per week if required.

Therefore, there may be an opportunity in the future to increase hours and/or responsibility for the right candidate.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Be able to effectively manage the school site, buildings and grounds
  • Be the principal key holder, responsible for access to, and security of, the school site including emergency and out of hours call-outs as required
  • Carry out Health & Safety checks/procedures and maintain accurate ongoing records
  • Take a pride in helping to maintain and develop our buildings and grounds
  • Have good DIY skills, undertake a range of repairs, maintenance and decorating
  • Work effectively as part of a highly successful school team
  • Line manage the cleaning team to ensure consistently high standards of cleanliness
  • Arrange and supervise various external contractors on-site (when needed)

Part-time 1 to 1 LSA

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate and hard-working person to join our dedicated team during the Spring term. The role will be supporting a child on a 1 to 1 basis in our Year 2 class, but will also involve supporting the learning of other children within group situations.

We are looking for someone who ideally has recent experience of working alongside children with ASD and who also has experience of an LSA style role.  The successful applicant will be fully focused on and committed to the welfare, learning and growth of the children.  They will have excellent interpersonal skills, will be approachable, calm and understanding and have high levels of integrity.  They will also be well organised and systematic, yet adaptable and flexible.

The role is a fixed-term contract until 31 August 2020.

The hours will be: 12pm – 3.15pm (16.25 hours).

Midday Supervisory Assistant

We are always looking for enthusiastic, passionate and caring people who enjoy working with children to join our dedicated team.

Ideal candidates will be confident and able to work with children with varying needs and work well in a team. They will also have a calm and caring approach.

Your main duty will be ensuring that lunchtime is a safe and happy experience for everyone by:

  • Promoting independence, fair play and positive behaviour
  • Supervising and helping the children whilst eating
  • Organising and playing games or activities to help develop the children’s play
  • Supporting the other Lunchtime Supervisors in enabling successful lunchtimes
  • Administering basic first aid
