Great Fire Learning Quest celebration
The children enjoying sharing some of their learning with their families.
This included performing a song with musical instruments, sharing an animated version of the event that they had created, diary writing, framed pictures and of course a range of inspiring houses that had been built as part of home learning.
Weald and Downland museum visit
As part of their Learning Quest about the Great Fire of London, the class went to explore a range of old houses and take part in a range of activities at the Weald and Downland museum in West Sussex.
Little Pigs houses
As part of their science learning on materials the children have designed and created different houses for the 3 Little Pigs.
When we were Ladybirds class (Year R)
Open Class displays
Many families came into school near the end of the school year, to share and celebrate their children’s learning and achievements. Below are some of the displays which showcased their learning.
Longdown Activity Farm visit
The children thoroughly enjoyed their day at the farm: learning about, seeing, touching and feeding a range of different animals.
As part of their ‘All Creatures Great and Small’ topic, Ladybirds class have watched butterflies grow in their classroom and then released them into the school grounds. Lots of moments of awe and wonder!
The children enjoy the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills in the open air on Fridays. This involves making very good use of our copse area.
Not Now Nativity
The children in Years R, 1 and 2, performed a nativity during advent. It was performed to the older children in the school and to their parents and families.
Year R wedding
As part of the children discussing and exploring different special events that families share and celebrate, there was a wedding acted out in the school hall. Reverend Philippa came to lead the service, everyone was dressed for the occasion, and there was a party after the ceremony.
